The Cow Beach project is full of manure. The city continues to assert that wildlife, habitat, people, pets and recreation are all compatible uses throughout the waterfront, finding consultants who reach conclusions that contradict Best Available Science. Some of the greatest damage is done through impacts to forage fish, which form the lynchpin of the aquatic food web on the Pacific coast. Continue reading
Yesterday at 3:44pm June 25, 2015 Wendy HarrisThe city [of Bellingham] has been getting very sloppy with its public documents, failing to having appropriate documents related to hearings or work sessions available, or available in adequate time before a public hearing.
At the last planning commission work session for the CAO, the city cited the final habitat restoration plan, but it was not available for public review and I have yet to see a copy. Continue reading
