Here’s a quick recap of some key information regarding Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo who is seeking reelection this year.

Sheriff Elfo supported Minutemen in 2005

In 2005, Sheriff Bill Elfo affirmed his support of the Minutemen vigilante group, which had formed around that time and was associated with the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. This was in response to publicity about people entering Arizona illegally. That year about 100 Minutemen volunteers were recruited here in Washington State.

I sent this email letter copied and pasted below to the Ferndale’s city council members and mayor Jon Mutchler today:

Dear Ferndale City Council members and Mayor Mutchler,

It is my understanding that the
Ferndale City Council has proposed a resolution entitled, “Rejecting White Supremacy and Establishing Ferndale as a Welcoming City,” and you are discussing it at the ‪August 19, 2019‬ City Council meeting.

Day 7 of Doug’s Got to Go has arrived and we shall celebrate it with being thankful that Republican Senator Doug Ericksen and the two other current 42nd LD representatives were unsuccessful in 2016 in overturning the enforcement by the Washington State Human Rights Commission of the Washington Law Against Discrimination making sure transgender people are protected in using the bathroom that fits their sexual identity.  Continue reading

Supposed “non-partisan” event paid for by the Whatcom County Republican Party PAC / Facebook post, Sj Robson

Today, I was perusing the Public Disclosure Commission website reports filed recently by the Whatcom County Republican Party PAC (“Whatcom Republicans”). I noticed there were two Expenditure reports filed that showed the Whatcom Republicans paid $358.08 on October 9, 2017, and $214.08 on October 27, 2017, to Meridian High School.

Those two dates seemed to correlate with two events I remembered which were: the October 5, 2017 “County-wide Candidate Forum,” and the October 19, 2017 “Wake-Up Whatcom County Rally!” both held at Meridian High School.  Continue reading
