Ericksen no on stopping conversion therapy

September 5, 2018  Dena Jensen

11 days and 11 easy reasons now that Doug’s Got to Go.

Today’s reason is that Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen (and our two current 42nd LD Representatives, also up for re-election) voted against a law banning conversion therapy by licensed health care providers on patients under age eighteen, that would spare minors of any sexual identity in our state from this type of abuse.  Continue reading

Day number 10 of the Doug’s Got to Go posts finds us remembering the April of 2017 when 42nd LD constituents were often wondering “Where’s Doug?”  I think when it has been, on multiple occasions, so hard to figure out where and when our Republican Senator Doug Ericksen is really working, it’s a sure sign to send him on his way!  Continue reading

The day 8 Doug’s Got to Go post is a doozy, because it reminds us how glorious it will be to vote a start-to-finish Trump fan and emmisary out of the state senate office for the 42nd LD. This May 15, 2016 post of Sandy Robson’s also shows Republican Senator Doug Ericksen’s tendency to shirk responsibility for his actions.  Continue reading

Day 7 of Doug’s Got to Go has arrived and we shall celebrate it with being thankful that Republican Senator Doug Ericksen and the two other current 42nd LD representatives were unsuccessful in 2016 in overturning the enforcement by the Washington State Human Rights Commission of the Washington Law Against Discrimination making sure transgender people are protected in using the bathroom that fits their sexual identity.  Continue reading

The Day 6 Doug’s Got to Go post shows Republican Senator Doug Ericksen has consistently been fighting for years to promote more carbon producing projects while fighting against measures that would initiate state-wide steps to discourage the use of fossil fuels. Continue reading

Here’s the Day 4 Doug’s Got to Go post. This one should be filed in the “Company He Keeps” category. In an Oct/Nov 2013 article in the Whatcom Watch, Sandy was talking about a forum for the Gateway Pacific coal terminal held back in 2011 that was hosted by the ultra-conservative Northwest Business Club, which an infamously anti-tribal-treaty-rights member of our community, Ron Reimer, was emceeing. Senator Ericksen was one of four featured panelists at that event, including a notably anti-tribal-treaty rights radio host, Dick Donohue of KGMI. Continue reading

Day 2 of the Count-down to Ousting Doug. Here’s something Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen did three years ago (back in 2015) that helped serve to perpetuate toxic threats, such as those from asbestos, to our waters.  Continue reading
