About 4 days ago on September 18, 2019, I wrote a letter to 2019 Bellingham Mayoral candidate, April Barker, about the contribution made to her campaign back in June of this year by the Whatcom County Affordable Housing Council, offering some of the information from a Facebook post made by Sandy Robson about their Public Disclosure Commission registration and reporting.

Doug’s Got to Go post #19 is going to focus on the prominent display of corporate and business campaign contributions to Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen’s campaign. In the Public Disclosure Commission charts shown in this post we can see that in 2014 Senator Ericksen’s contributions were composed of $118,073 in contributions from businesses, compared to his opponent Seth Fleetwood’s business contributions being composed of $5775 for that year. A joint campaign flyer paid for by the campaigns for four self-described “nonpartisan” candidates running for office in Whatcom County in the November general election, just arrived in voters’ mailboxes. The top of one side of the flyer reads: “Tired of Partisan politics? So are we.” The flip side of the flyer reads, in part: “We Don’t Want To Be Elected By A Political Party, We Want To Be Elected By The People.”
