News broke this past weekend in Whatcom County about a last minute coal terminal-funded PAC, formed by Gateway Pacific Terminal (GPT) applicant Pacific International Terminals LLC, to support Charter Review Commission-generated Props 1, 2, and 3, and to oppose citizen-proposed Prop 9, placed on the November election ballot, via ordinance, by the Whatcom County Council. On 9/30/2015 County Council member Rud Browne originated Agenda Bill 2015-295 (p.251-259), a resolution requesting County Executive Jack Louws develop models to assist the County Council , the City of Bellingham and other “interested parties’ to “understand the impact of the various proposals related to a new long term jail facility use agreement”.
