On July 7, two Bellingham police officers confronted a homeless man with a knife outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Bakerview Rd. You can read the Herald article on this incident here. Lois Garlick died peacefully in her sleep on June 28 at age 95.  She and her husband George, who died several years ago, were awarded the first Environmental Heros award by Re-Sources.  It was obvious and symbolic.  Their environmental stewardship predated by decades the beginning of the modern enviro movement in the early 1970s.
