Since our community has worked so hard together to prevent the very real and toxic threat of a 48 million ton coal terminal here, our day #31 post presents a particularly disgusting deed of our current 42nd LD Senator that definitely designates why Doug’s Got to Go. Continue reading

Here comes post #30 for why Doug’s Got to Go. This is one for the category of the numerous noticeably unpopular votes that Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen has made as our representative for the 42nd Legislative District.  Continue reading

Perfect timing for this editorial, that came out today in The Seattle Times, to contribute to day 29 of our Doug’s Got to Go posts. It offers a third day in a row of reasons why Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen’s judgement cannot be trusted, among other ways his judgement cannot be trusted, in relation to his numerous trips to Cambodia.  Continue reading

4 weeks later we are at 28 posts with reasons why Doug’s Got to Go. Today we are visiting the twittisphere where there were some tweets fluttering around early last month questioning the appropriateness of Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen attendeding elections in Cambodia in late July of this year. Not only did he, along with Representative Vincent Buys, attend what The Seattle Times reported were widely regarded as sham elections in Cambodia, Senator Ericksen invited two other Washington lawmakers to attend, as well.  Continue reading

26 days and, once again, there is no doubt that Doug’s Got to Go. Today’s highlights are from yesterday’s 9/19/18 Lynden Tribune arcticle, “Ericksen hosts his own talking sessions,” in which Calvin Bratt reports back from Republican Senator Doug Ericksen’s campaign stop at the Lynden Community Center on Saturday. In light of our heightened awareness of threats to Whatcom County residents through the initiation of  deportation proceedings against immigrant’s rights activist and Bellingham resident Maru Mora-Villalpando in December of 2017, and the August 29, 2018 ICE raid against employees of the Bellingham location of Granite Precasting, I am going to try to shed some light on this Operation Stonegarden Grant funding that the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving for years now with the approval of the Whatcom County Council. September 18, 2018  Dena Jensen

There have now been 24 days of Doug’s Got to Go posts and yesterday’s 23rd post about  Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen reminded me how he minimizes the level of his climate denial by calling it climate agnosticism and yet had enthusiastically introduced climate-denier Tony Heller for a presentation to a legislative committee last year. That, in turn, reminded me that Senator Ericksen has affiliations that he would like us all to forget about right now while he is running again to represent us.  Continue reading

Today is day 23 of posts stacking up the reasons Doug’s Got to Go before we fire Republican State Senator Doug Ericksen in November this year. Remember when we Whatcom County residents tried to fire him last year with our effort to have Senator Ericksen recalled for serving both us and the EPA poorly by holding those two demanding jobs at once? Continue reading
