Are folks familiar yet with the Whatcom County Council’s new Legislative Information Center? This is an online access point on the Whatcom County website, which provides a new format not only for viewing past and present County Council regular and committee meetings, agendas, and minutes, but also provides access to an assortment of key types of local legislative information.
Here is a link to that page: https://whatcom.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx
The Legislative Information Center provides numerous tabs, each one representing a type of information or function that is offered. One of the tabs offers a User Guide (http://wa-whatcomcounty.civicplus.com/…/Using-the-Legislati…) which explains how to use the Legislative Information Center, plus some (not all) of the information that is available on it.
Here are all of the tab categories currently available:
Council Home Page
User Guide
Search Files
Meeting Information (clicking this tab only provides access to 2019 meeting information. There is another tab provided for meetings from other years.)
Meeting Bodies (which include Whatcom County boards and committees)
Code and Charter (so far, this only seems to take you to a page for Whatcom County Code. There doesn’t seem to be a way to access the Whatcom County Charter yet from clicking on that tab.)
Meetings prior to 2019 (clicking this tab takes you to the webpage that allows you to choose what specific segment of years records you want to access and offers links to access them)
Legislation and Minutes 1979-Present (where you can access Whatcom County ordinances, resolutions, and minutes 1979-Present).
