Three candidates have stepped up to replace Jim Jorgensen, retiring from the Port of Bellingham’s board of commissioners at the end of this year.

Voters in the northwestern portion of Whatcom County—north Bellingham, Ferndale, Blaine and Birch Bay—must narrow the field to just two, who will move on to the countywide general election in November.

The Port of Bellingham’s mission is to fulfill the essential transportation and economic development needs that in turn support Whatcom County’s overall economic vitality.
