So I am not very excited about another County CAO citizen advisory committee meeting. Every single thing I say or write is either ignored or summarily rejected by the anti-regulation majority and it feels like a big waste of time. Yet here I am, late at night, because I just submitted a letter on updated BAS for manure lagoons in preparation for the discussion on CPAL, better known as the farm plan program, at the meeting tomorrow at 3:30 PM at Northwest Annex. This ought to be fun. I am adamently opposed to the farm plan program as it exists. Who takes the industry responsible for the greatest amount of ecosystem degradation and gives them special privileges, reduced accountability and exempts them from public disclosure?
I do not like this, and if you feel the same way, vote with your wallet. Do not support the industrial livestock industry and CAFO’s.
