The notice image above is linked to Whatcom County’s document center where the Notice of Upcoming Hearing for the Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan and Urban Growth Area Review is posted.  That version of the notice should allow you to click on all the links that it contains. In addition,  I am providing some links that might be helpful, here in this post.  The links will provide you with an opportunity to:

• View part or all of the current Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan
• View the final recommendations from the Planning Commission to amend the Comp. Plan and Urban Growth Area (UGA) Boundaries
• View comments from citizens, advocates, and groups on the Comp. Plan and on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations and Urban Growth Area Review
• View current agendas for the county council and all boards and commissions
• View contact information for submitting your own comments regarding the Comp. Plan.

Tip: If you don’t do anything else, view as many of the comments as you can.  They will give you a feel for the plan itself and may help motivate you to go on the read the plan and be able to create your own comments and/or support other people’s comments.

You can find comments that have been submitted in both 2014 and 2015 on the Environmental Impact Statement for the Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations Update and Urban Growth Area Review along with comments submitted so far to the Planning Commission in 2015 and soon to come, those submitted to the Whatcom County Council in 2016 on the Comprehensive Plan.
