Anyone who is familiar with, and potentially concerned about, the issue of dredging gravel from the Nooksack River may want to listen to the meeting audio from the Whatcom County Natural Resources Committee meeting on February 9, 2016. In the draft minutes for the meeting posted on the Whatcom County website, it appears committee and council members discussed this topic along with other issues related to what natural resources to protect, what to use and how to protect and use them. Forests, agricultural land, and mineral resources were discussed, among other things.
Below are screen shots of two pages of the 2-09-2016, draft minutes for the Natural Resources Committee meeting, which link to the full PDF version of those minutes posted on the county website.
