Letter to the Whatcom County Council:

Now that the Council has handed off the Chapter 2 ball to the Planning Commission, you will have more time to look around and see what else is going on in our state.  You may have the time to read the story coming out of Vancouver, Washington; the one in the same state as Whatcom County.  The City Council there had the audacity to stand up to the oil industry & unanimously voted to ban crude oil facilities from their jurisdiction. No 5-2 vote there.  Here’s the link in case you don’t have the time to check it out – http://koin.com/2016/07/18/will-vancouver-ban-oil-by-train/   Maybe by the time Chapter 2 comes lurching back into the Chamber like the Mummy trailing its wrappings printed with hieroglyphic  warnings from your legal counsel, you will have a clear idea of what’s going on.  Mercy me, Marvin Gaye knew it 1971!  It is 2016 & the majority of this County Council hasn’t figured it out yet.
