So I was the only person to appear for the public hearing on the utilities chapter of the Comp. Plan [Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan Update]. Yeah, the weather is great, but I am worried that people are relaxing now that we have elected a progressive [Whatcom County] council. That is the wrong approach. For example, the utility chapter was in pretty good shape overall, despite ignoring biodiversity and chemical dumping, but people should show up and thank the council, encouraging them to be even bolder in their environmental actions. That is what the Tea Party and conservatives did after they elected that awful conservative council. They did not stay home and enjoy life. They showed up at meetings more than ever, and supported the people doing the work they wanted. (And if you are busy doing other political things, this does not apply to you. I know there is a lot going on.)
