Just in at 1 pm today is the release of the official proposed new districting map for Whatcom County council elections.  The Districting Master, Tjalling Ypma, has submitted this as his official proposal to the Districting Committee, which will meet this evening to discuss and possibly do more.  […]

Below is a copy of the meeting schedule for the Whatcom County Districting Committee (that links to the schedule on the county website). The meeting showing for April 13 is a Public Hearing that anyone can attend to voice their opinions, questions, and/or concerns.

  1. If I were still living in precinct 201 (Cordata area), I would be screaming bloody murder that I got put in the same district as Lynden. How does such a big chunk of the north end not belong in the City of Bellingham? The only thing my family and friends have in common with Lyndenites is that we all like raspberries.
